Day 3: Traditional Arctic Transportation...

Today is your chance to spend more time with the furry friends you met yesterday and experience firsthand the traditional mode of transportation in the Arctic! Enjoy a 5 hour dog-sledding tour to a small hunting cabin at Aallaniarfik, beautifully situated at the edge of the Icefjord about 15 kilometres from Ilulissat. On the journey to the cabin, the trail weaves through rugged, hilly terrain so you get a good feeling for the dogs’ abilities to pull a sled. Upon return to Ilulissat, you can enjoy the rest of the day as you wish.

Please note: if there are two people travelling together they will be paired together on one sled; solo sleds can also be arranged for an additional fee.

Imagine sailing among icebergs weighing up to seven million tons—giant chunks of ice as big as multi-story office buildings! You can experience this in person or other awe-inspiring optional tours in the Ilulissat area.

No matter how you choose to experience Greenland today and tomorrow, you can book any guided activity of your choice in advance or locally at your hotel in Ilulissat.
