Spend the night in a double room with private facilities at Hotel Narsarsuaq.
Later, enjoy a two-hour sailing excursion in the Qooroq Icefjord—a unique chance to get up close to the stunning Qooroq Glacier while navigating around enormous pieces of ice calved from the glacier. In the silence of this pristine environment, you may even hear the cracking sounds of the ice or witness the creation of a new iceberg! Spend the night at Hotel Narsarsuaq.

Optional activities: Helicopter tour, hiking, mountain biking, or sea kayaking (kayaks and mountain bikes can be hired in Narsarsuaq).
Day 2: Sail Among Icebergs
Enjoy a two-hour sailing excursion in the Qooroq Icefjord—a unique chance to get up close to the stunning Qooroq Glacier while navigating around enormous pieces of ice calved from the glacier. In the silence of this pristine environment, you may even hear the cracking sounds of the ice or witness the creation of a new iceberg! The rest of the day is at your leisure. Spend the night at Hotel Narsarsuaq.
Optional activities: Tour by boat to the Viking ruins at Brattahlið.
Day 3: Explore Culture & Nature at Qaqortoq
Today, a short flight takes you to the picturesque village of Qaqortoq (Julianehab), where a professional guide will show you the notable highlights of this town on a walking tour. You’ll also have some time to check out the local museum and the Great Greenland tannery, a producer of fine sealskin clothing. For those who want to explore more, there are many short hikes around town along with a range of optional activities and day tours available from the local tourist office (bookable on location). Spend the night at Hotel Qaqortoq.
Day 4: Follow in the Footsteps of the Vikings
Start the day by sailing into the fjord towards Hvalsey, the site of Greenland's largest, best-preserved Norse ruins, including a 12th century church where the last recorded Norse wedding occurred in 1408. Here, a local guide will enlighten you about Greenland’s Viking era and the many theories that surround the mysterious demise of the Norse settlements sometime after the 15th century.
From Hvalsey, the tour continues by boat to the Upernaviarsuk agricultural research centre, an experimental farm where scientists test new, hardy varieties of crops and vegetation that can thrive in Greenland’s harsh environment. Spend another night at Hotel Qaqortoq.
Day 5: Hot Springs and Icebergs at Uunartoq
Located roughly 40 miles south of Qaqortoq is Uunartoq, an island well-known in Greenland for its geothermal hot springs with a water temperature of 38° C (100° F) year-round. Here, you can enjoy a soothing soak in these natural pools while icebergs slowly drift by in
the nearby fjord—a truly unique experience! The journey to and from this island is just as fascinating at the destination itself: the boat ride takes a little over two hours each way, with plenty of opportunities to see majestic whales and giant icebergs in all shapes and sizes. Spend another night at Hotel Qaqortoq.
Note: don't forget to pack your swimsuit!
