Sailing & Boating
As there are no highways linking the towns of Greenland, travelling by boat is the most common way of getting around for the locals. Sailing along the beautiful coastline of Greenland offers wonderful scenery of tiny villages, floating icebergs, mountainous landscapes and even possible wildlife sightings. If you’re lucky, you may get to see some whales swimming just below the surface alongside your boat—a truly remarkable experience.
Many guided boat tours also include visits to small Inuit settlements where you can step back in time and get a taste of the old Greenlandic way of life. Depending on the vessel and type of excursion, the experience may be relaxing and peaceful or thrilling and fast.
