Please note: Quoted prices online and in requests may vary based on third party services. When it comes time to booking your services, flight prices might have increased. For that reason, in order to secure your booking there might be a supplement fee. In this situation, your travel consultant will inform you with the exact details.
Flight times are subject to availability each day. For that reason, we cannot guarantee at what time your flights will be, arriving or leaving Greenland. This will be confirmed when we book your trip.
Deposit payment & Cancellation Charges
This tour package requires a non-refundable deposit payment of 50% of the total price at the time of booking. View more information on deposit payments and cancellation charges here.
Customisations
We highly recommend arranging nights in Iceland before and after your tour to Greenland. We are happy to assist you with booking extra nights in Iceland or to plan a complete Iceland and Greenland package for you.
Departure and return to Iceland
This tour originates and ends in Iceland. Due to flight times between Iceland and Greenland, passengers may need to spend a night before departure and/or on return in Reykjavík. Your travel consultant can assist with booking accommodation in Iceland on request.
Summer travel & weather in Greenland
The summer climate in Greenland is generally mild and dry with average daytime temperatures of 5–7° C (41–45° F). Due to the Arctic conditions and possible sudden weather changes, we suggest bringing warm, weatherproof outerwear, thermal layers, and good walking boots (and/or rubber boots).
You may also want to bring mosquito repellent, sunglasses and a sleeping mask due to long daylight hours.
Please note that the itinerary can change without notice due to weather conditions. In the rare event that an activity is cancelled, you will be refunded for that activity.
Currency in Greenland
The currency in Greenland is the Danish Krona (DKK). As Greenland is quite remote, we recommend bringing some Danish currency as well as debit and credit cards with a 4-digit PIN number for cash withdrawals at ATM machines.
Local tips
Before your arrival in Iceland and Greenland you’ll receive Nordic Visitor’s Greenland Travel Guide. In this, you can read more information about weather conditions, what to pack, currency and other practical information about travelling in Iceland and Greenland.
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance before you depart on your travels.
Currency rate
All bookings are billed in Icelandic Króna (ISK), the official currency of Iceland, where this tour departs from. Prices displayed in other currencies are indicative only and based on the daily exchange rate as issued by the Central bank of Iceland. That means that conversions from ISK to other currencies will fluctuate from day to day.
After booking with Nordic Visitor
After booking your package with Nordic Visitor, you will be contacted within 2 working days by one of our travel consultants. They will serve as your dedicated contact person for all of your travel needs before, during and even after your holiday.
Your travel consultant will provide you with details about your booking and your remaining payment (if not paid in full). You will also receive more information about what to expect during your holiday
Carbon offsetting your tour
Nordic Visitor is working on offsetting the estimated carbon footprint of your package. We’ve partnered with an environmental fund in Iceland to carbon offset all our tours. Carbon offsetting your international flights is not included, but we highly recommend you look into possibilities with your airline or directly through a local environment fund.
